The jdk.serialFilter system property can only be set on the command line. If the filter has not been set on the command line, it can be set can be set with java.io.ObjectInputFilter.Config.setSerialFilter. Setting the jdk.serialFilter with java.lang.System.setProperty has no effect. The value of the property, which is by default not set, is a comma
separated list of the mechanism names that are permitted to authenticate
over a clear connection.

Java™ SE Development Kit 7, Update 391 (JDK 7u – Restricted

This JRE (version 7u111) will expire with the release of the next critical patch update scheduled for October 19, 2016. This JRE (version 7u121) will expire with the release of the next critical patch update scheduled for January 17, 2017. This JRE (version 7u131) will expire with the release of the next critical patch update scheduled for April 18, 2017.

Java 15 updates

However, the current implementation of SunMSCAPI does not yet support SHA224. This can cause problems if SHA224 and SunMSCAPI private keys are used at the same time. To mitigate the problem, we remove SHA224 from the default support list if SunMSCAPI is enabled. The SHA224withDSA and SHA256withDSA algorithms are now supported in the TLS 1.2 “signature_algorithms” extension in the SunJSSE provider. Note that this extension does not apply to TLS 1.1 and previous versions. The jarsigner tool has been enhanced to show details of the algorithms and keys used to generate a signed JAR file and will also provide an indication if any of them are considered weak.

The requirement to have the Authority Key Identifier (AKID) and Subject Key Identifier (SKID) fields matching when building X509 certificate chains has been modified for some cases. Java 21 is scheduled to be released on 19 September 2023.[359] There are eight JEPs that aren’t in preview or incubating, compared to Java 20 which only had previewing and incubating JEPs. Java 21 introduces features first previewed in Java 17 (pattern matching for switch statements) and Java 19 (record patterns). The 32bit version of Windows on x86 has been deprecated for removal. Java 5 was first available on Apple Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)[40] and was the default version of Java installed on Apple Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
